"You're lying," Nightpaw mewed, his eyes wide with horror. "We've always had BreezeClan blood, not StormClan."
Whitepaw could understand how horrified he must feel. She looked at Frostpaw, whose expression was unreadable.
"Did you have two kits?" Frostpaw meowed. Out of all of them, the black and white tom seemed the calmest.
"Yes," Dark meowed. "We did have two kits. You, young one, were our second kit." She flicked her tail at Frostpaw.
This time, the apprentice's eyes widened with disbelief. "I...I remember being left out by the border near BreezeClan," he stuttered.
Memories flooded through Whitepaw's mind. She was only a kit when the BreezeClan patrol brought home the young, mewling kit. After Rosestar accepted him into the Clan, they have both been bullied by Nightpaw, until their medicine cat, Meadowflower, told her to tell Nightpaw how he's been making them feel. Since then, the three apprentices grew closer. But Whitepaw is now worried if the truth about their birth will ruin their friendship forever with Nightpaw.
"Why did you abandon us?" It was Nightpaw. His voice was full of rage, which made Whitepaw's heart sink. Is he going to be angry at the truth?
Dark cleared her throat. "Stonepelt knew he shouldn't have kits with me," she mewed. "Clan cats aren't supposed to mate with a cat from a different Clan or outside the territory. My scent on them was strong, so we had to leave you next to a different Clan territory."
"You left us?" Nightpaw shrieked. Whitepaw noticed the black tom trembling, but she couldn't tell if it was from rage or horror. "You left us without us knowing who are true parents were? All this time, I have believed that I am a true BreezeClan cat...but now I am not!" The last word came out as a snarl.
Dark blinked her yellow eyes with surprise. "Now, now, cat," she mewed. "I-"
"Do you even love us?" Nightpaw snarled. Whitepaw began to feel uneasy when the black tom slid out his claws.
Dark hesitated when she saw his claws slide out, then sighed. "I never truly knew you," she murmured. "So I...do not. I don't feel any affection for any of you. I'm sorry."
Nightpaw and Frostpaw both let out a gasp of pain. Only Whitepaw remained calm, but her eyes were wide with shock.
"You horrible, horrible mother!" Nightpaw snarled. He leaped at Dark, pinning her down. Dark let out a shriek of pain.
"Let her go, Nightpaw!" Whitepaw mewed in terror. Is he going to kill her?
"Nightpaw, stop," Frostpaw mewed, his voice trembling. "Killing her isn't an answer to anything."
Nightpaw glared up at them, his claws in Dark's flesh. Blood oozed out between her flesh and his claws. Dark's eyes were wide with surprise and horror as if she didn't expect him to be so strong.
Nightpaw bared his teeth at Frostpaw, and for a moment Whitepaw felt afraid if he would hurt him. Bracing herself to defend her friend, she unsheathed her claws, but Nightpaw turned back to Dark, snarling, "You are a horrible mother. I will never forgive you!" He unhooked his claws and got off of Dark, glaring at the two apprentices. Dark was still on her back, eyes wide with horror as she stared at Whitepaw and Frostpaw. Frostpaw's blue eyes were clouded with pain.
"Let's go," Nightpaw growled, his tail lashing. "We're going to StormClan to find Stonepelt."
Giving Frostpaw an uneasy glance, Whitepaw followed the two other apprentices out from the Twoleg garden, leaving Dark laying on the ground with wide, horrified eyes.

The rest of the day passed when the three apprentices returned to camp. They returned when it was close to dawn, and Rosestar offered to have them go on the dawn patrol. After that, they did nothing but hunting all day, and their mentors gave them permission to rest for the rest of the day. Whitepaw glanced up at the sky, which was turning orange from the sunset. She wondered how they would trespass StormClan's territory just to see their father.
Nightpaw was tearing off the flesh from a thrush angrily, sitting away from Frostpaw and Whitepaw, who were eating together, sharing a fish. Whitepaw flattened her ears and murmured, "I think he's mad at me,"
"I can't really blame him." Frostpaw mewed, taking a bite of the fish. After he swallowed, he mewed, "All this time, we believed that we were true BreezeClan cats, but we don't have BreezeClan blood at all! Now we have StormClan blood with kittypet blood at all. We aren't pure."
Whitepaw was shocked at the rage in his voice. It was very rare to see the black and white tom angry, but she could understand why. She just wished they weren't so upset about it.
"Maybe Stonepelt will love you." Whitepaw mewed, remembering what Dark had told them. Because she never knew her kits, she didn't feel any affection for them. Sadness surged through her. How could a mother not love her own kits? She knew her mother, Emeraldflame loved her. She suddenly felt a wave of gratitude that her mother was still alive and loved her, no matter what she did.
"Yeah, and hedgehogs fly," Frostpaw growled, taking another bite out of the fish. Whitepaw frowned. Will they ever forgive me?

"We have to leave now!" Nightpaw hissed. Whitepaw flinched when she saw Nightpaw's teeth flash from the sun's light. Night was coming now, and the last flame from the sun disappeared into the darkness, swallowed up by the mountains.
"Is this smart?" Frostpaw mewed, flattening his ears. The tom's temper was now gone, but he felt nervous at trespassing another territory. It was against the warrior code to trespass without a good reason.
"It has to be!" Nightpaw snarled, glaring at his brother. "I want to know how Stonepelt felt when he left us! Does he care for us, or will he just hate us, just like Dark does?"
The last of the warriors were padding to their dens after sharing tongues. Whitepaw's father, Shortstem, was on guard. He was in front of the tunnel that was their only chance to escape. But then Whitepaw remembered Frostpaw's tunnel escape he dug a few hours earlier. We could use that to escape...and then.... she frowned. She had no idea where StormClan territory is. It was certainly much, much farther from MistClan's territory. Perhaps right next to their territory? She just hoped it wasn't too far. They could run into unwanted enemies.
"Hurry up!" Nightpaw snarled as he padded into the den. Sliding into the hole Frostpaw dug earlier, he slid out the territory, shaking his pelt from the dirt. Frostpaw and Whitepaw slid after him, sending out clouds of dust from their paws. Nightpaw let out a hiss when dust sprayed on him. "You stupid cat!" he snarled. "Stop throwing dirt on me."
"It was an accident!" Whitepaw mewed, desperately. Is our friendship really going downhill now? She let out a sigh and dragged her paws with Frostpaw and Nightpaw as they padded towards MistClan territory.

As time passed, Frostpaw, Whitepaw and Nightpaw arrived to StormClan territory. It wasn't too far, Whitepaw thought gratefully, as it is right next to MistClan's territory. There were some rocks they had to climb, help each other out with that blocked the border, but they managed to make it through the territory. Now all they have to do is cross the border.
Frostpaw was trembling with fear as if he didn't like the thought of trespassing into a different territory. "I-I don't like this," he muttered.
"Who cares?" Nightpaw growled. "We have to find Stonepelt. Maybe he'll be on guard, with any luck." As if StarClan answered his hopes, a large gray tom was standing in front of a thorn bush. A small tunnel was under it. That must be the entrance to the camp, Whitepaw decided. Similar to BreezeClan's.
Nightpaw waved his tail, hoping for Stonepelt to see them. Frostpaw flinched when his brother let out a loud yowl, making Whitepaw snarl and turn at the black apprentice, "You idiot!" she hissed. "Do you want to wake up the whole Clan? Rosestar will tear off our tails once she'd found out we went into a different Clan's territory!"
"Shut up!" Nightpaw flashed back at her. He turned back to Stonepelt. The tom's blue eyes flashed with alarm and padded over to the three smaller cats. Whitepaw found herself shrinking back. She didn't expect him to be so tall and strong-looking.
"What are you doing here?" Stonepelt snarled, his eyes flashing in the darkness. Whitepaw thought she could smell a hint of Dark on him, as if he'd just visited her recently.
"We want to know if you love us!" Nightpaw demanded, lashing his tail. "Dark said you're her mate!"
For a moment, Stonepelt's eyes widened with alarm and fear, perhaps. Then he snarled, flattening his ears, "How do you know about that?"
"W-We visited Dark," It was Frostpaw who answered. "She told us we are your kits."
Whitepaw held her breath. Stonepelt was silent. Then, her heart sinking, his eyes were as cold as fire when he snarled. "No. I do not love you. I don't even know you. I have no kits. And even if you are my kits, I will not love you!"
Whitepaw turned to Nightpaw, who had his lips curled into a snarl. And, for the first time, Frostpaw looked angry, with his tail lashing and claws unsheathed. Whitepaw suddenly felt afraid that Stonepelt would have to fight the two apprentices.

I tried my best not to make it look similar to Power of Three! I really hope it isn't..

But yeahhh, this part is finally almost over, and we could get more of Whitepaw. Right now, it's just Frostpaw and Nightpaw's point of view. c: This chapter was fun to write. Hope you like it!

Comments would be nice!
